The btv compound is getting cleaned up and I’m getting caught up. The forthcoming Starflyer 59 album is called “Talking Voice vs. Singing Voice.” We’re talking about an extra 7″ with two bonus tracks to accompany the LP release, but no final plans yet. Denison Witmer is currently recording his full-length for The Militia Group. The vinyl version will be out on Burnt Toast Vinyl once it’s ready. More details when they’re known. I got a little crazy and ordered a singing saw yesterday. We’ll see what happens with it all. Be sure to see Reels of White this week. Oh yeah, there will be a full-length Reels album on Burnt Toast Vinyl in 2005. Did I mention that before? That’s in addition to the four-way 2xLP split with Reels, Questions in Dialect, The Magic Lanterns, and foxhole. :::scott:::

I went to see a symposium on Howard Finster at Lehigh University on Friday which featured a lot of annoying insider self-appreciation from professors and gallery owners, but enough of Howard to make it tolerable. A documentary in the rough was unveiled, featuring his last interview before he died and a spot on the Tonight Show, showing this man of Visions at his best. There are 3 spots at the University showing off a wide variety of his work. If you’re in the area at all, be sure to stop by. For those out there awaiting the Starflyer 59 one-sided vinyl release, the audio plates are somehow missing and need to be re-done. This is finally happening in the next few days and is the last part of the release. I have boxes of covers sitting in my house, the etching and labels have been sitting at the factory for months. This will see the light of day in time for the autumn Starflyer 59 tour with Pedro the Lion. Also, my pal Ethan is going to crank out the artwork for Damien Jurado : This Fabulous Century this weekend with vinyl completed just in time for his October tour. Woven Hand : Consider the Birds vinyl is almost finished and should be back from the factory in a week or so in time for pre-orders. The cd on Sounds Familyre and the split release LP will be distributed by Secretly Canadian in November to your local record shops. Tonight was Denison Witmer’s last show in Philadelphia as a city resident. He’s moving to Madison, WI on the weekend and will only ever be seen back here on visits or tours. Goodbye, Witmer, I’ll miss having you around so often. :::scott:::
