Last night, Jess and I met up with Erik and Gloria at The Map Room which proved to be far superior to the previous night’s escapades at Hop Leaf. Not only did they have Westvleteren on their menu, they had it available for a lower price and the bartenders were much, much, much friendlier. Chicago, this is your place to go. Lucas and Lodewijk, I had the legendary Westvleteren!! You are jealous!
Erik and I were talking a bit about some plans to release Starflyer 59 vinyl, more information once we have things figured out.
Erik was at CMJ beause he does radio for Thrill Jockey and it reminded me that while I was waiting to meet with our distributor, Redeye, my friend Wes just walked down the street. I hadn’t seen him in about a year. Anyhow, it was a really weird coincidence that I was standing on the street and he was just walking by on the way to another CMJ event. He works for Barsuk now in Seattle which explains his CMJ attendance.
