The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore is #75 on the CMJ top 200, their 4th week on the charts. Thanks to all of the stations who are playing this album.
I got to see Saxon Shore with Anathallo and Owen in Chicago while visiting Jess. Things seem to be going well and they’ve definitely been honing their craft. They were super tight. Thanks to everyone who has come out in support of Saxon Shore. They’re out with Anathallo for a little while longer and wrap up their tour in Brooklyn on 21 November. I went to visit Hot Doug’s twice during my visit, once with a friend and once with the Saxons. The special gourmet dog of the week was a pheasant sausage with cognac and some fancy French cheese. It was completely delicious. I also went to see Styrofoam and Alias play. It was a rainy night and the show was completely in the middle of nowhere so we got really wet on the way to the train home. But, it was a good show, especially for the first night of the tour.
There are lots of things underway with Burnt Toast Vinyl for Japan. Most of the back catalog will soon be available.
I have to say that when I listened to Vashti Bunyan’s Lookaftering I was super impressed, but it didn’t prepare for the amazingness that is her 1970 album Just Another Diamond Day. The vinyl version is super sweet with a gatefold cover and a bonus 7″. Wow!
Thanks to Ethan for the Earth and Pelt action. I wish I could go see that show with you all…
