Saxon Shore should be done tracking the parts of The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore with Fridmann. I’m waiting to hear some of the rough mixes, but what I’ve heard so far has been impressive. Everyone seems pretty happy with the record so far, but I guess it’s their/our record so there is some inherent bias. If you don’t have their new ep Luck Will Not Save Us from a Jackpot of Nothing, it’s out to all the cool record shops this Tuesday, 31 May.
Johnathon and I were talking last night about a second Unwed Sailor album that will feature alternate versions of older songs and new, unreleased tracks performed with the new live lineup of keyboards, bass, and drums. If our plans hold, that will be recorded in September. The White Ox is still on track to be finished in July. There have been a couple more dates added to their tour, so be sure to check those out and see them when they come near you in June.
