It’s been a bit of a whirlwind today. A vanload of us made it to Citizens Bank Park to see the first Phillies game in the stadium, a late spring training game against the Indians. They ended up losing, but we got to see Jim Thome make the inaugural hit, a home run. We arrived early enough to grill some hot dogs and sausages out in the parking lot, which turned out to be a lot of fun. The stadium is nice enough, better than the Vet, for sure, but not nearly as interesting as Wrigley Field or Camden Yards or even Matt’s favorite Fenway Park.
Tom and I were a little sleepy. We made it home around 4am from seeing Sufjan play at the Knitting Factory in NYC. The sound here is always good and for Sufjan’s set, it was exceptional. The place was completely buy ativan without prescription sold out, so there was very little space for comfort, but the show was definitely incredible. He’ll be going out for a few more dates soon to support Seven Swans. We made it into the city early enough to meet up with my friend Nicole and her friends at a Thai restaurant and met my friend Heidi, who was visiting NYC from London, before the show. Heidi is the sister of my friend Ben who never seems to be in the same country as me. Where are you Ben Sand?
I’m watching NCAA basketball tonight, rooting against Duke. It’s every American’s duty, as much as rooting against the Yankees. This week, my parents and some friends bought tickets the the NCAA basketball rounds 1 and 2 for 2005. Can’t wait to see the games in person.
