I picked up Unwed Sailor : The Marionette and The Music Box LPs and Saxon Shore : Four Months of Darkness cds yesterday. Orders for the LPs will go out immediately and Saxon Shore will be added to the on-line store later today. The official store release date for Saxon Shore will be on 3 June. In other big news for the label, Bosque Brown is officially on Burnt Toast Vinyl. Mara Miller is the songwriter who is Bosque Brown and she will be recording a full-length album later in 2003 for release sometime in early 2004. Some very exicting news…The Trouble with Sweeney : I Know You Destroy! debuted at #128 on the CMJ top 200 this week and Unwed Sailor : The Marionette and The Music Box debuted at #83 and was the #5 debut of the week. Thanks to everyone supporting these releases at college radio; continue to listen to your local CMJ station for both releases. I’m continuing to lok for information about the Museum of Jurassic Technology and found some interesting things on the internet here, here, here, and here. Things seem to be divided, but in general I am falling on the side that several exhibits are purposely vague with some believable untruths, but there are factual things in the museum, as well. All in all, I am regretting not returning to have more time to go through the exhibits. Next trip. :::scott:::
I’m back from California, arrived this morning on the redeye flight. Yesterday, Mike, Elisabeth, Andy and I joined me for a pilgrimage to Dodger Stadium. We roasted in the sun and watched the Dodgers beat the Marlins 2-1. Later on, we replaced Andy with , wore our lobsterman t-shirts, and walked down the Venice boardwalk. Mike claims he saw Flea, but I think it was just the drum circle influencing him. I think I forgot to mention in my previous post that Mike was wearing a Half Japanese shirt on Thursday that his wife bought him for Christmas that was worn by Jad Fair. How amazing is that? Earlier, we also visited the Museum for Jurassic Technology. I?m officially soliciting evidence as to the validity of the exhibits. Some opinion suggests that many of the exhibits are purposely fake. Any advice via e-mail is appreciated. On Friday and Saturday, I visited my aunt, uncle, and cousin in San Diego. I visited my cousin?s kindergarten class as his show and tell assignment.
