I made it back from tour with Reels of White Softly Flow. There was lots of road trip excitement, including stops at a couple of local diners and a visit to my parents’ house in Indiana. I planned to post the car playlists here, but seem to have left them at home. I’ll try to get them up soon. I’m now in Montreal and am going to see the Expos and Phillies play later tonight. I’ll be off for Italy on Wednesday. Don’t forget, both Saxon Shore and Denison Witmer are on tour, be sure to catch them live when they come to a town near you. The Trouble with Sweeney have been in residency on Monday’s at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn and Tuesday’s at Silk City in Philadelphia. 16 August is the store release date for Early Day Miners one-sided LP. :::scott:::
A special congratulations to my old high school pal, Tim, who is getting married at the end of the month. The van is packed for a cross country trek with Reels of White Softly Flow. Maybe I’ll see you in a midwestern dustbowl, rocking out in white. The vinyl for Saxon Shore : Four Months of Darkness is in the house and it’s hott. Get a copy while you can. I am surrounded by boxes of Unwed Sailor books. A big shipment is going out to pre-orderers tomorrow AM. An extra special thanks to the Garsons, Dave, Colin, and Jess for an amazing weekend. There were visits to both The Center for Land Use Interpretation (a husband and wife have sequentially photographed the entire CA coast in 12,000 images and were exhibiting it as slides, 3 seconds apart) and Museum of Jurassic Technology, a special b&w film viewing in the Hollywood Forever cemetery, and a midnight viewing of Army of Darkness. :::scott:::
