I’m excited for this week. Ester Drang will soon be en route to the East Coast. Come see them play in NYC at the Mercury Lounge on Thursday, 15 August. They’ll be playing with Owen (Polyvinyl Records). Hope to see you there for the rock.
Kind of Like Spitting are working, working, working on their one-sided LP. They just left yesterday for a big tour and will be in Philadelphia on 26 August. We’ll be finalizing plans for the release then. Incidentally, the show is at the North Star Bar and Denison will be opening. It’s an all-ages show, so be sure to come out. Also, Early Day Miners have finished the audio for their one-sided LP and are considering the artwork now. The Six Parts Seven will be recording the audio for their one-sided LP at the end of the month in Ohio. Unwed Sailor will be recording their one-sided LP in early October somewhere in Europe right before their October European tour. There have been some tentative discussions about recording in either Oslo or Copenhagen with some of our friends there. Ester Drang will be recording audio for their one-sided LP later this month after their East Coast jaunt.

Unfortunately, the Dodgers lost to the Phils yesterday when relief pitcher Giovanni Carrara hit two batters with bases loaded to give the Phils the 2 run commanding lead. It was a good trip to the stadium and we managed to find seats with a good view. Nothing like a good afternoon baseball game during the week.
For our European friends, there should be some upcoming treats. Unwed Sailor will be touring Europe in October, as well as recording material there for their forthcoming one-sided LP. Ester Drang’s Goldenwest will be released by Swiss label Gentlemen Records in the fall, as well. There are also discussions underway for a new Circle of Birds ep with a European supporting cast. I’ll let you know how that progresses.
The release of the White Trash Inc. (Orchestra) 7″ on Norway’s Milk & Honey records is now available in Europe. I’ll have copies available soon from the on-line store, along with their release of a Soul-Junk 7″.

Ester Drang just did a few shows in Texas and Arkansas. Thanks to everyone who came out to see them rock.
The artwork is nearly complete for Denison Witmer’s Philadelphia Songs. Everything is on schedule for a 24 September release date. Dates are being worked out for Denison’s fall tour which will be booked by Candy Gram Booking who also book The Trouble with Sweeney. The Trouble are also planning some autumn dates starting in October.
I saw The Locust, Arab on Radar, Lightning Bolt, and Wolf Eyes on Friday in Philadelphia. I’m a big fan of experimental music and Arab on Radar. Very loud night, for sure. Last night, I saw my friend in Me Without You play. Two members were previously members of The Operation, whose first two releases were on Burnt Toast Vinyl.
This Friday, Reels of White Softly Flow plays at Zoetropolis in Lancaster with All American Radio. Be there…
