Bosque Brown in 2009

I guess I’ve been a little asleep at the wheel. The press campaign for Bosque Brown’s Baby has started and a few blogs have already posted an mp3 for “Went Walking” and some mini reviews. Some kind words and links from the folks at: My Old Kentucky Blog, Gorilla Vs. Bear, BigDlittled, and QuickDF. I’m sorry for the disservice, but Gorilla Vs. Bear also posted an mp3 of Bosque Brown’s version of “Silent Night” that appeared on the I’ll Stay ‘Till After Christmas compilation to benefit Amnesty International. Considered in a special New Year’s present instead. Anyhow, take a listen and get excited. We’ll be taking some pre-orders for Baby shortly and the cd and LP with bonus 7″ will hit stores on 3 March.

Also, Starflyer 59 Dial M LP, Soporus 24,110, and Denison Witmer Carry the Weight LP all hit stores today. But you already knew that, didn’t you?

Happy New Year!

Thanks for your support during 2008. It’s been a very busy year for us. Unwed Sailor’s Little Wars was released in the Spring and toured several times in the US and recently in Europe in support. We were also happy to release Denison Witmer’s Carry the Weight and Starflyer 59’s Dial M on vinyl. We were very relieved to wrap up the Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future 7″ series after a lot of hard work coordinating production, assembling 7″, and mailing out so many small boxes. We’re also very excited about Soporus’ first full-length 24,110 arriving just in time for a quiet winter season. 2008 saw the completion of Bosque Brown’s Baby album and great progress in our Byul full-length release. Before the end of the year, we sent off Baby to be mastered to vinyl along with Erik Enocksson’s Farväl Falkenberg soundtrack.

For 2009, we’re looking forward to releases from Bosque Brown, Byul, Erik Enocksson, Birchville Cat Motel, Steven R. Smith, and Half-handed Cloud.

For those interested in year end lists, Matt Stone (Soporus, Saxon Shore) and I wrote some quick lists for our friends at Tangzine: here and here. Feel free to read and make fun of us. Incidentally, our old friends Christian Wargo (ex-Scientific) and Josh Tillman (ex-Saxon Shore) are in Fleet Foxes who had their Sun Giantep and self-titled full-length selected as Pitchfork’s top release of 2008. We’re more than happy to sell you copies of their earlier releases.

Wishing you the best for 2009…

LPs shipping, touring, release dates, and online ordering

Sorry for the lag in updates. The Denison Witmer : Carry the Weight LPs have been shipping out to pre-orders and new orders. The first copies available through mailorder and from Denison at shows are on yellow marbled vinyl which compliments the yellow cover and insert well.

Unwed Sailor are still on tour in Europe. They’ll be rocking the continent for the next week or so. Be sure to see them.

We worked through a few kinks in the new online ordering system and will start to migrate over to that in the coming weeks. We’d appreciate any feedback (positive or negative) at order [at] burnt toast vinyl [dot] com. This new system should allow for a quicker processing time and provide more shipping details.

06 January 2009 is the official retail release date for btv085 Soporus : 24,110 cds, btv086 Denison Witmer : Carry the Weight LPs, and btv087 Starflyer 59 : Dial M LPs. Buy them at your nearest record store.

Bosque Brown : Baby is getting manufactured soon and we’re working towards a cd and LP release date of 03 March 2009. The LP will arrive with a bonus 7″. We’ll probably start take test pressing version orders in early January.
