I am excited to read about Nomo’s four hitter as the Dodgers opened up their season with a big 8-0 victory. And Nomo’s on one of my fantasy baseball teams, so that helped a lot. Randall (of Tidal Wave Magazine and Jetenderpaul) sent me a special tour promo DVD with the new Sigur Ros video from the first untitled track on their ( ) album. I haven’t seen such a beautiful and haunting video in recent memory. Elementary school children are getting ready for recess as their teacher makes sure that they are ready to go. Then, they leave the building in their gas masks as they enter a sort of apocalyptic chemical wasteland to play. All with the ethereal, dreamlike music playing. It’s looking like there will be a double 10″ version of Starflyer 59’s new album “Old” (with extra tracks) out on btv in the US… :::scott:::

Many thanks to my friends Justin and Sanna for sending me some great loot from Asia…some souvenirs from Cambodia and various Asian snacks. Greatly appreciated. Also, thanks to Jamie for sending me a super weird pacakge. Both added some excitement to the weekend. I went with my friends Matt and Emily to meet up with Rich and his friends from Williamsport, Sarah and Jeremiah, to see an exhibit of David Lynch’s art at the Reading Public Museum. I had no idea that there was even a museum in Reading, let alone willing to show David Lynch’s work. The exhibit was a few recent prints, as well as some older paintings from his studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Not too many things on display, but enough to make the trip worthwhile and interesting. Today is the big start of baseball season. The Burnt Toast Vinyl fantasy baseball league has been started; we’ll see if my dad is tough enough to beat all the rest of us. Dad and I will be going with a few friends to see the Phillies’ home opener on Friday and another game on Saturday. Should be pretty exciting. I’ll be rooting…
