I’ve just returned from seeing The Microphones/Mount Eerie for the second time in two days. Phil (who is both entities) played bass the first night in an interesting, but somewhat failing experiment when I saw him in Brooklyn, tonight was more traditional with electric guitar. I am a big fan of The Microphones, now Mount Eerie. Phil recorded a song with my good pal Mikael in Copenhagen a few weeks ago. Those connections always get my nostalgia flowing, remembering visits to that fair city and all of my Scandinavian friends. I guess this leads to my next piece of big news…I will be releasing the vinyl for The Lionheart Brothers : White Angel Black Apple in the United States. I rode around Europe with The Lionheart Brothers in the summer of 2000 because my good friend Rolf was their manager. In any case, White Angel Black Apple is a great record that’s been released in Europe already by Sally Forth. The cd version will most likely be co-released in the U.S. by btv and Velvet Blue Music. We’re going to finalize all of the details shortly, but it is planned for an autumn 2003 release… :::scott:::

For those in the Philadelphia area, some friends are having an art opening this Friday at Ofuroya for Falastine, an exhibit that addresses the occupation of Palestine. The artwork is very diverse and has been shipped from all over the world. There will be people speaking about the conflict, a poet/writer will read, and there will be lots of free food donated by a Palestinian restaurant. You can check out the website by visiting: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze1vao0 Friday May 2, 2003, Ofuroya:contemporary art, 201 Camac Street 2nd Floor, between 12th and 13th streets and between Walnut and Locust. :::scott:::
I just returned from a short trip to Montreal. I may end up going back over the course of the year, hopefully getting to see the Expos and Godspeed You! Black Emperor both play. No dramatic revelations or observations, really. A very special congratulations to my friends in Umea, Krister and Ylva who just had a baby boy. Krister’s hoping he will be a Swedish rock star someday, just like Krister. One-sided LPs…Early Day Miners will be out in a couple of weeks or so and features tracks a little more subdued than the rockers on their latest release, Jefferson at rest…Yume Bitsu artwork is being completed still, but we all know what we’re going to do for it, at least…The Six Parts Seven will come out in August or so, once Ethan gets the covers silk screened, this is definitely some fine instrumental music and you will be impressed…Aspera, Kind of Like Spitting, and Starflyer 59 are in the progress of recording…Brother Danielson has a concept and is getting ready to record…It is all coming together… :::scott:::
