Willis, Sarah, and I went to NYC today to see the Diller and Scofidio exhibit at the Whitney. It was Willis’ idea since he’s the architect, but it was definitely something impressive from a less informed point of view. Lots of installations that dealt with images, branding, interaction with spaces, as well as cutting edge architecture. Their “Blur Building” was an installation in the 2002 World Expo in Switzerland where they created a misty fog to encase their structure. Willis visited the building after studying abroad in Copenhagen and it was interesting to find out more about the architects’ work. We stopped by to visit Josh at the Fanatic offices. Saxon Shore : Four Months of Darkness will be going out to radio and press in the very near future. The trip was capped off with a visit to Two Boots Pizza, love the super spicy pizza slice, and the Magnolia Bakery, such amazing cupcakes, though Sarah swears she can make better. We’re all waiting… :::scott:::

Orders for the LPs will go out immediately and Saxon Shore will be added to the on-line store later today. The official store release date for Saxon Shore will be on 3 June. In other big news for the label, Bosque Brown is officially on Burnt Toast Vinyl. Mara Miller is the songwriter who is Bosque Brown and she will be recording a full-length album later in 2003 for release sometime in early 2004. There are some mp3s of demo songs available here. :::scott:::
Some very exicting news…The Trouble with Sweeney : I Know You Destroy! debuted at #128 on the CMJ top 200 this week and Unwed Sailor : The Marionette and The Music Box debuted at #83 and was the #5 debut of the week. Thanks to everyone supporting these releases at college radio; continue to listen to your local CMJ station for both releases. I’m continuing to lok for information about the Museum of Jurassic Technology and found some interesting things on the internet here, here, here, and here. Things seem to be divided, but in general I am falling on the side that several exhibits are purposely vague with some believable untruths, but there are factual things in the museum, as well. All in all, I am regretting not returning to have more time to go through the exhibits. Next trip. :::scott:::
