I’m in France after spending a few days in Amsterdam. Friday night, a bunch of us went to see Pedro the Lion play in an extremely weird show for me. There was only one band and the show started on the exact time printed on the ticket. Apparently neither is that strange. This Sunday, I’ll be seeing Cat Power, so I’ll let you know how that show works, too. It’s at 4pm on a Sunday, so that’s already weird to me. My luggage got lost on the way to France and my rental car and hotel reservations didn’t go through. I found out it was a holiday weekend, so no work on Monday, then, and no way to get a car because of the holiday and a bunch of peopel getting cars due to some labor strikes. To get that protein at breakfast, aim for an ounce of nut butter, turkey bacon, cottage cheese, or an egg. Protein should be about a quarter of your plate during lunch and dinner; reach for three to four ounces of skinless chicken breast or fish. Of note, if you’re not sure what three ounces look like, it’s about the size of a deck of cards.8 Make Sensible Swaps Some foods are best consumed in moderation, such as foods with added sugars or high in sodium.910 Another food to eat in moderation is white flour, which is found in many baked goods and bread.
