Saxon Shore is listed on the cover of the April/May 2006 issue of Cookie Scene, Japan’s premiere indie rock magazine. No details on what the article about Saxon Shore actually says, but maybe we’ll get a translation along with the copies they’re bringing back home with them. They have a song on the cd that comes with the magazine, as well. They played their first show last night with Tristeza and it seemed like the Tokyo shows had nearly sold out, so things seem to be going well. I saw The Drift (Temporary Residence) play on Saturday night and was impressed with the upright bass and really incredible trumpet and flugelhorn parts. Thanks to Adam for setting the show up. Last night, a bunch of us relived our old memories and got some sweet potato fries and bread pudding at Silk City. There are conflicting stories about its fate after closing, but it was one of the best places to go to get late night food on a Friday or Saturday night and it may just return after a slight facelift. :::scott:::
