Test pressings for Emperor X’s one-sided LP The Blythe Archives Vol. 1 arrived and sound great. Everything should be on track to have some LPs for his mid-November tour dates, including 17 November in Philadelphia. There’s a big puzzle in the artwork and etching, but I’ll reveal more information soon. I went to see The Darjeeling Limited with Mara, Ryan, and Winston in Dallas, making it the second Wes Anderson movie I’ve seen in a Texas theater. Kind of weird coincidence for me, I guess. I enjoyed the movie and really wished I’d been able to go to India like I was supposed to several years ago. I left Norman yesterday and Unwed Sailor was wrapping up the recording and hoping to start mixing Little Wars. We’ll see how it all shapes up. I enjoyed visiting Guestroom Records, a really great record store on Main Street in Norman, and also loved having some breakfasts at The Diner. See you at Jesu tomorrow night in the basement of the Unitarian, Philadelphia. :::scott:::

I’m in Blackwatch Studios in Norman, OK with Unwed Sailor. The tracking for Little Wars is nearly done. The guitars were finished today and the drums and bass were finished up yesterday. The band is adding percussion parts to various songs at the moment. This is a large cast of players featuring the current live band (Johnathon with Brooks, Andy, and Patrick), but also Nic Tse who flew in from Hong Kong, as well as Matt Putman and Matt Depper who played on The Marionette and the Music Box. The band is set to wrap up mixing by Saturday morning and will head out to Denver for several live dates, many with Lotus in the Midwest. :::scott:::
Lots of new dates were added for Unwed Sailor’s August touring. It kicks off this weekend in Knoxville, TN with several dates on the East Coast and then back through the South. Go see them play! Bosque Brown are continuing to record their new full-length album in Denton, TX. Should be finished sometime in September. :::scott:::
