Unwed Sailor is on the road again! Their first show is tonight in a week and half long jaunt that will find them hitting the Forecastle Festival in Louisville on Saturday. Be sure to see them bring the rock. Yndi Halda are packing their bags and making last minute preparations to make their way to the US. Their visas were approved and they will be arriving this Sunday. I’ve updated a couple of dates for their monthlong itinerary. It’s their first American tour, so you can’t miss them! If you happen to be in the area, Byul is playing in Seoul this Friday. Hopefully Mike from Soporus will make the show if his plane lands on time. Here’s an awesome flyer for the show. Their album has finally been recorded and they’re working on artwork as we speak. :::scott:::

A special last-minute show has been added for Unwed Sailor and Sybris in Baltimore TONIGHT! at The Ottobar. You need to go if you are in the area. Mike S. from Soporus will be there. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Philadelphia show on Friday night at the Northstar. It was one of the noisiest Unwed Sailor sets I’d seen in a while and great to see them bringing the rock. Thanks to everyone who came out to the NYC show on Saturday at Piano’s. The set was equally good, but a bit less noisy. It was a special surprise to see my good friend Jan-Erik visiting from Copenhagen. I also helped myself to some deliciousness from the Doughnut Plant which just a few short blocks away. Mango and Raspberry were the special flavors of the week. It was a long night in NYC and we were happy to escape, leaving Brooklyn in our wake after watching the sunrise from an apartment rooftop. Bob Dylan and The Band were playing our soundtrack as we crossed the Verrazano Bridge in early morning. It’s been great meeting the guys and girl from Sybris and they bring the noisy rock in…Continue reading

Soporus is going to be playing this Thursday, 29 May, at Circle Broad and Washington in Philadelphia with experimental acoustic noise improv group LATRALMAGOG. Unwed Sailor has made it to the west coast on their tour. They’ll be rocking the U.S. for over a month, be sure to see them. The Rhys Chatham concert in Williamsport was one of the best shows I’d ever seen. 100 guitarists from Williamsport’s Uptown Music Collective and various guest musicians played the various riffs and passages composed by Chatham who acted as the conductor. The venue, the Community Arts Center, is a beautiful old theater with amazing acoustics. The next night, the Uptown Music Collective held an after party show with David Daniel and Megafaun, whose members were part of the 100 guitar orchestra. I really enjoyed seeing Daniel’s ambient guitar performance. Seth and Dana from Akron/Family were also members of the guitar orchestra on Friday night and Seth played a large part in making the shows happen. It was great to see so many younger kids playing in such an avant-garde performance and so many of…Continue reading
