I received the test pressings for Saxon Shore : Four Months of Darkness LP and Early Day Miners : Deep Harbor one-sided LP today in the mail. It’s a bit like Christmas when this stuff shows up. Quite exciting and foretelling a very busy summer for vinyl releases at btv. Hey, did you visit The Onion this week yet (it is Wednesday, all of you cubicle drones)? Wander on over to The Onion AV Club and see the nice words they had to say about The Marionette and The Music Box. Another reason for me to be smiling this evening on minimal sleep and preparing to fly to Amsterdam tomorrow. The Trouble with Sweeney just received 5/5 in A.P. for I Know You Destroy!, though I haven’t seen the mag yet. Willis, Sarah, and I went to NYC today to see the Diller and Scofidio exhibit at the Whitney. It was Willis’ idea since he’s the architect, but it was definitely something impressive from a less informed point of view. Lots of installations that dealt with images, branding, interaction with spaces, as well as cutting edge architecture. Their “Blur Building” was an installation in the 2002 World Expo in Switzerland where they created a misty fog to encase their structure. Willis visited the building after studying abroad in Copenhagen and it was interesting to find out more about the architects’ work. We stopped by to visit Josh at the Fanatic offices. Saxon Shore : Four Months of Darkness will be going out to radio and press in the very near future. The trip was capped off with a visit to Two Boots Pizza, love the super spicy pizza slice, and the Magnolia Bakery, such amazing cupcakes, though Sarah swears she can make better. We’re all waiting… :::scott:::
