[07.28.08]
We've spent the last few months working away on the new Saxon Shore album with producer Dave Fridmann (MGMT, Tapes n Tapes, Clap Your Hands). The album will be running about 55 minutes in length and also includes vocals on one of the tracks courtesy of Caroline. First time we've done that. Probably not the last. We are all very happy with the way everything turned out and we're very excited to share this with everyone. Just figuring out the oh so important timing of it all...

Plans are underway to play CMJ this fall as well as tours in Europe, Japan, Taiwan. No release plans have been finalized as we are still trying to find the right home for it.

Oh, and the album is called "It Doesn't Matter".

[04.18.08]
Beginning this week (Tuesday April 22nd) Saxon Shore's "Marked With the Knowledge" will be featured on a series of commercials for SONY HD. This news comes at a good time as we are getting ready to enter the studio again with producer Dave Fridmann and planning tours in late 2008/early 2009 for Europe, Japan and possibly the US to surround the release of the album. A new demo from the album is posted on our myspace. We will have more to share with everyone very soon.

The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore CD, $12

Post Rock That Goes to 11. Saxon Shore's last EP was assembled long distance as leader Matt Doty and his mates shared pieces of moody, lush orchestration over the Internet. This time, the group convened in person to construct epic, soaring instrumentals filled with wandering lines and electronic stutters. Every triumphant blast is balanced by a softer, delicate moment. - Spin Magazine

Luck Will Not Save Us From a Jackpot of Nothing Enhanced CDEP $8

Tossing the beach ball between Kevin Shields, Air and Roger Manning Jr., you can spend all day creating underwater beats and polite waves of keyboards without ever really getting wet. Fortunately, this New York/DC/Philly Instrumental collective (which recently finished recording a full-length with Dave Fridmann) provides big melodic splashes on this EP. All hazy, no lazy. - Magnet

Four Months of Darkness CD, $10

5/5 Ambient, lilting post-rock that proves Mogwai don't have that market cornered. Melancholy on the surface, but ultimately uplifting. Rock albums this beautiful don't come around often. - Alternative Press
