Jess and I went to Boston to visit Randall and Beth this past weekend. Randall is the editor of Tidal Wave Magazine and in Jetenderpaul. We spent a lot of time swapping cds/mp3s and trying to explore the city, which proved difficult. We did manage to find the Milky Way, an interesting spot with candlepin bowling.
Thanks to Mikael for acquiring the new Bonnie Prince Billy.

I just added three new btv shirts to the online store. Get 'em while they're hott in maroon, forest green, and gold. All with the btv toaster logo in white. We sell 'em cheap so you can be our billboard. Also, more pink shirts on their way for anyone who is waiting for their order to be filled. We sold out of all of the Men's sizes almost instantaneously last time.
I'm listening to the new Ulysses album which is a side project of Rober Schneider of Apples in Stereo. He's still set for a one-sided LP sometime next year.
Jess and I are off to see Randall (Jetenderpaul) and his wife Beth this weekend in Boston. Matthew is nearly moved into the btv compound, so mail order efficiency will be greatly increased.

I just added the Reels of White Softly Flow limited edition cd-r to the online store. It's got a live show in audio format, a second live show in video format, and some other secrets.
Also, it appears the The Six Parts Seven show at the Khyber on Wednesday has ben cancelled. Hopefully they'll be back around soon.

For some reason, I woke up with Sufjan's "50 States" song in my head. Thank God for minidisc bootlegs or I wouldn't have been able to fulfill my listening needs today.
Last night, Willis, Mike, and I went to see the Morr music tour. Styrofoam was really incredible. Matthew, where were you? Slacker.
11 December, The Dead Texan (on Kranky, 1/2 of Stars of the Lid) will be performing in NYC. I can't wait to go. It's been almost three years since Willis and I saw Stars of the Lid in Copenhagen with Mikael, Jan, and Sarah, way too long.
I met up with Ben Barnett last night and we talked about the Kind of Like Spitting one-sided LP, among other things. We're working hard on this to get it out to you in April 2005. More details once they're ready.

I've added a few new titles to the online store, including the new Innocence Mission collection of songs Karen sang to her children.
I'm off to see the Morr Music tour tonight featuring Styrofoam and Lali Puna at the Unitarian Church in Philadelphia with Matthew and Willis.

For all those concerned, Keyes is alive and well in NYC. It's been way too long, man.
Matthew, the btv mail order slave, is moving into the btv compound for a while. This means that your orders will be shipped out much more quickly. I've also been tweaking the catalog to try and eliminate titles that aren't regularly in stock, easy to get quickly, or that I don't really like.
Starflyer 59 pre-orders were processed last night, we'll be sending out the vinyl this week, as soon as the rest of the pressing arrives from the plant.
Bosque Brown : Plays Mara Lee Miller is still underway. We're having some productions delays for some reason, but I'm hoping to have some copies here for the holiday season.

After battling with some overzealous Clear Channel employees, Rich and I got kicked out of the Trocadero backstage area while giving LPs to Jason Martin from Starflyer on Saturday night. We ended up waiting in the cold for 30 minutes or so to collect our wristbands that allowed us access to our friends. Nice job. The sound here always suffers from big room syndrome, it's unfortunate Starflyer and Pedro the Lion played the space, but it was good to see the familiar rock. Starflyer was great to see as a two piece with Martin and Lenz bringing the guitar and drums and MacAlister joining with keys for a song. Speaking of Keyes, where are you man? He wrote the short story on the back of the sf59 LP that's out in circulation finally.
Morr music tour in Philadelphia on Thursday. Maybe I'll make it out to that. I love Styrofoam.

I went to see Sufjan play last night and it was great to see so many friends in the crowd. Props to the Witmer on bass and banjo in Sufjan's band.
Rich is coming to visit and we'll go to see Starflyer and Pedro the Lion on Saturday with one-sided LPs in hand. They're getting overnighted and should arrive today. Finally!!
I am now officially out of Damien Jurado :This Fabulous Century LPs on white vinyl. The remaining orders will be filled with what copies of black I have. If you want white, Damien is the only source.
I failed in my quest to order some of the Turkey and Gravy Soda from Jones Soda. They sold out before I could get a chance to get some. Maybe someone out there wants to set up a little trade? I've got some records....
By the way, Jess wrote an article on the PA State Demolition Derby Championships.
Late afternoon update...we've been found guilty, guilty of finally having SF59's one-sided LP done. What a long road it's been. Thanks to United for turning these around quick. Starflyer 59 : Portuguese Blues, four songs on the A side, only one re-recorded for their I Am the Portugues Blues full-length. A short story by J. Edward Keyes and an amazing design by Jesse Beamesderfer.

Sufjan will be playing tonight in Philadelphia at the Ethical Society. See you there.
I talked to Ben from Kind of Like Spitting last night and their one-sided LP is nearing completion. Artwork is underway and Ben is living in Philadelphia for a few months.
Starflyer59 one-sided LPs will be available from them on the rest of the Pedro the Lion tour from Saturday until they sell out. Beth at United is making the magic happen and getting the LPs out quick. Pre-orders will begin shipping next week some time, as soon as the rest of the LPs arrive.

I'm trying to overcome some technical and scheduling problems to get Starflyer 59 vinyl ready for the band on Saturday. Hopefully everything will work out and this record will finally be out. Saturday, see them at the Trocadero in Philadelphia.
The new album from Japanese instrumentalists Mono, Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined is highly recommended. It's licensed to Temporary Residence in the US and I've been playing a lot over the last week. Check it out.

I went to see a symposium on Howard Finster at Lehigh University on Friday which featured a lot of annoying insider self-appreciation from professors and gallery owners, but enough of Howard to make it tolerable. A documentary in the rough was unveiled, featuring his last interview before he died and a spot on the Tonight Show, showing this man of Visions at his best. There are 3 spots at the University showing off a wide variety of his work. If you're in the area at all, be sure to stop by.
Joey Sweeney and pals are up to some new trouble at this new website, Phiebrity. Jess, Willis, and I saw Old Canes rock out in the Unitarian Church Basement last night to a small crowd, but a soundsystem to accomodate 500. Chris from Appleseed Cast delivers the good with the live set and on the album Early Morning Hymns.
Saxon Shore are finishing up The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore and readying a re-issue of their Be A Bright Blue debut. More on release dates once they're known.
Sufjan Stevens is playing at the Philadelphia Ethical Society this Thursday and is on tour, be sure to see him and wave to Denison Witmer who's playing in his band. Starflyer 59 will be playing in Philadelphia on Saturday with Pedro the Lion and I'm hoping their one-sided LP will be done in time. Test pressings were wrong and had to be re-done, I'm hoping the new set is at my house today.
Also, for those interested in Damien Jurado's This Fabulous Century on white vinyl, these are nearly gone from btv and will soon be sent out as black vinyl. Ya snooze, ya lose. The record still sounds great no matter what color the vinyl is.

I hope that you voted today and braved the long lines and bureaucratic hassles. The line was a lot longer at my polling place than the last presidential election. I ended up waiting like 15-20 minutes. I should have stopped by the school's bake sale for breakfast before getting in line instead of after. I'm watching exit poll information, updated fairly regularly at www.slate.com. It's going to be a nail biter for the next few hours.
I'm a little frustrated by some reports that my day company has acted a bit unethically. It looks like we're in the toilet for now. We'll see what happens. While they suggest drugs in Canada may not be safe, it may not be those to worry about...

Congratulations to Michael and Kristen Carey who were married on Saturday!
As P. Diddy and friends say, Vote or Die. Hopefully that doesn't mean they're going to seek you out and kill you, but I wouldn't rule it out altogether. See you at the polls tomorrow.
Just added some new cds/LPs to the online store, including releases from Thanksgiving, The Castanets, Windsor for the Derby, Mono, and Tarentel.
