The new test pressings for mewithoutYou's Brother, Sister LP sound great. I'll be putting it up for pre-order later today. We're in the queue for color vinyl pressing so it should just be a couple of weeks until they ship out. I'm excited to finally have this ready to come out.
The Starflyer 59 Ghost of the Future 7" should be shipping in about a week or so. I was hoping to get them out earlier, but there have been some issues at the factory causing some delays. It should be worth the wait.
In other good news, the curse has been lifted and we now have copies of Aspera's Back When Love LPs. It's been a super long time coming and this is definitely an amazing record. It has some of the last songs that Aspera ever recorded before their end. Now members are in Philadelphia's Blood Feathers (Box Theory) and NYC's Favourite Sons (Vice). The cover painting of the band is truly amazing.

There are a few reviews out for some of the 4 band 2xLP split releases. Here's one in Pop Matters for The Magic Lantern and one for Questions in Dialect The Ghost Wishes to Speak. Though the same reviewer for Questions in Dialect also had this to say in allmusic about the record.
A short mention in the new issue of XLR8R (available for download in .pdf format) "Their double-LP set of four new bands - including gloomy rockers Foxhole, Swedish instrumentalists The Magic Lantern, brilliant ambient duo Soporus, and doom electronics from Questions in Dialect - is one of the most memorable releases this year." A nice in-depth article analyzes all four components in textura.
Also, the letterpressed cover for Foxhole We the Wintering Tree cd is at the printer. We should be on target for a release this autumn.
Starflyer 59 is in the midwest for a few shows later in the week. They'll be selling subscriptions for the 7" box set at the shows. Bring your pockets filled with cash to subscribe...We're hoping to get on the press this week for the first 2 7" so we can mail the colored vinyl out to pre-subscribers early next week. Remember, time is running out to subscribe at the $59.59ppd price and ensure you will receive colored vinyl.

I've scanned the cover images from the first 2 7" in the Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future 7" series. You can take a look by going here. The front covers have been silk-screened using hand-mixed red metallic and pearl white ink and the backs have been letterpressed using wood type.
Foxhole and Questions in Dialect are both going out on the road later in the week and are meeting up for a couple of shows in early July. Be sure to see them if they're in your neck of the woods.

We have covers ready for the first 2 7" in the Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future series. The vinyl is supposed to be arriving later this week or early next. Chris, Will, and Matt at HYMY Industries really did a great job mixing special metallic ink for one of the silkscreen covers and using some really nice old wood typeface for the letterpressing. Apparently they blazed through the silkscreen process and did all 10 covers at once.
New stampers have arrived at the plant for mewithoutyou's brother, sister. New test pressings should arrive in the next day or two. We're hoping all is well because we're in line for the color vinyl press.

I've posted updated dates for Yndi Halda in Asia as well as some additional Unwed Sailor July dates. There are extensive touring plans for Unwed Sailor underway throughout 2007, so more details as soon as everything is finalized. There should be another European tour this fall.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see Unwed Sailor in Chicago this Saturday. It's always great to be able to see them play.
Starflyer 59 7" cover printing is almost done for the first 2 7". Hopefully I can get some photos online soon, so I can make believers out of all of the doubters.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see Soporus, Unwed Sailor, and Rosetta on Saturday night in Philadelphia. I think it was a great show and was excited to see all three bands play. Thanks to Joshua for the space and some sound work, Jessica for working the door, Brit and Van for some Mexican magic, and Mike for saving the day with video. Unwed Sailor are continuing to rock for the next couple of weeks. They are planning to do some more touring this summer, as well as a larger U.S. tour in the fall and dates in Europe.
I got to see Denison Witmer play on Sunday out in the middle of nowhere. Always good to catch him playing.
Will, Chris, and Matt from HYMY Industries are planning to print Starflyer 59 7" covers on Wednesday and Thursday. They've developed some special metallic inks for silkscreening/letterpressing and I think these are going to be something really special.
Foxhole and Questions in Dialect are teaming up for some dates at the end of June/early July. I'll be updating them on the website as soon as more details are filled in. Foxhole's We The Wintering Tree will be re-issued on btv this fall as both a cd and 2xLP version. We're starting production on the cd version now.
Bosque Brown are going to enter the studio this weekend with Chris Flemmons from the Baptist Generals (SubPop) for their follow-up full-length to Bosque Brown Plays Mara Lee Miller. The plans are for a release to stores in late Winter/early Spring 2008. I'm hoping the vinyl version is ready before that. We'll work hard to make this all a reality.
Saxon Shore is playing in Philadelphia at Johnny Brenda's on Wednesday night. Get out to see the rock.
Oh yeah, the Commissioner is running sound for Dinosaur Jr at an Urban Outfitters in Boston today. The world is a strange and wonderful place.

The test pressings for the second 2 7" in the Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future box set, so we're definitely set to be on time for the first two 7" shipments to all of the subscribers.
On Saturday, if you're in the Philadelphia area, come out to see Unwed Sailor and Soporus with Rosetta (Translation Loss and Level Plane Records). I'm setting up the show at 2007 Frankford Ave in the Fishtown area above Circle Thrift. Hope to see you there. It's been a long time since Unwed Sailor has rocked these parts and it should be a great show.

Good news, the first 2 7" for the Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future 7" box set sound great. They accidentally put side d on the back of a and b on the back of c for the test pressings. I'm trying to get them to do another batch so test pressing subscribers actually have these things the right way as they were intended to be heard. The factory is good about fixing their mistakes. Right now, the plan is for the first seven inch to be a sort of bluish marbled vinyl and the second seven inch to be a sort of greenish marbled vinyl. These will look cool, so be sure to pre-order. We'll be applying the doubter tax of $10/subscription starting on 1 July or whenever the first two 7" ship (whichever date is later). You have been warned! But you also like colored vinyl and like being the first to hear such 7"...
