I've made some updates to the Unwed Sailor tour plans in late May/June with Sybris, a few more dates have been filled in. They'll be doing quite a few West Coast dates for the first time in a long while. Pop Matters has a nice review up of Little Wars. There's a little show recap from the NYC Knitting Factory show at Loose Record. Another review is up at The Silent Ballet and one more at Beatbots.
Foxhole hit the road starting on Friday for a week with Interstates. This is a special treat and hopefully the start of more live performances.
Yndi Halda are planning to be in the US this August for a two week tour. We're beginning the official plans now.
The colored vinyl final installments of Starflyer 59's Ghosts of the Future 7" box set are on their way. Most of the black vinyl final installments are on their way as well and the remaining ones will go out today or tomorrow. I try to send out all of the orders by priority based on subscription date and these things do take quite a while to assemble and mail out.
Steven R. Smith has finished up the audio master for his one-sided LP which will be called Floor of the Sky. Artwork is underway and this should be out before the end of 2008. If you haven't listened to Smith's music, you should check out one of his several albums under his own name, as Hala Strana, or as Ulaan Khol.
Our friends in Efterklang are on their way to the US for their first American tour. They start next Tuesday in Denver and will be traveling the country throughout May into early June. I'm looking forward to their performance at the Unitarian church sanctuary here in Philadelphia towards the end of the month. They'll have copies of their one-sided LP on btv along with their newest full-length, Parades which is one of my favorite releases from 2007.

The last 2 Starflyer 7" have shipped from the factory. With assembling and getting packages ready for shipment, these should be on their way to subscribers starting next Wednesday or so. They go out in order of subscription until they're all out the door. We'll finally wrap up Ghosts of the Future.

Unwed Sailor are still on the CMJ top 200 at #129 this week. Thanks to all of the stations and DJs who are playing Little Wars. Unwed Sailor are rocking through Friday. Are you ready Texas? They'll take a little break and then bring the rock to the West Coast with Sybris and then back to the Midwest and East again. Europe, you'll get yours in July.

Foxhole are getting ready to hit the ground running in 2 weeks for a short tour, playing some shows for the first time in a while.

A little Friday afternoon fun...we have a little beta version of btv radio up at www.burnttoastvinyl.com/radio. It features streaming podcast-quality selections from audio that has been shared among a few friends over the last week or so. A few things from Jandek records in honor of his Saturday performance in Philadelphia. You really do need to see the documentary Jandek on Corwood and listen to more Jandek. The playlist is a little on the diverse side ranging from experimental composition to prog rock to instrumental to more typical indie rock stuff. Hopefully the player is intuitive and serves as a gateway to some new artists. A special thanks to Chris for his coding efforts.

Unwed Sailor's Little Wars is #79 on the CMJ top 200, their 3rd week on the charts. Thanks to everyone who is playing the record. Unwed Sailor are still on tour...go see them play.
I've posted new dates for Foxhole who are going on tour in early May.
Soporus' 24,110 has finally been mastered. There were a lot of subtle updates, edits, and re-mixes over the last couple of months. We're working on scheduling a release date and will give an update as soon as it's scheduled.
A few of us are super excited to see Jandek this Saturday in Philadelphia at the German Society. Maybe we'll see you there.

A Starflyer 59 7" shipment has arrived. The materials for 2 of the remaining 4 7" are here. I'm anticipating the remaining 2 7" to arrive sometime next week. Hopefully the delay will be worth it in the end. Thanks for your patience.

Unwed Sailor's Little Wars climbed to #78 on the CMJ top 200 this week, their second week on the charts. Thanks to everyone playing this record, hopefully it's playing on a station near you.
I got to see Unwed Sailor play with Owen and Brooke Waggoner at the Knitting Factory in NYC last night and everything was sounding great. Also had a great time at the Doughnut Plant and having some Malaysian food. It's been way too long for a nice bowl of laksa. They're in Boston tonight, MACROCK in Harrisonburg, VA tomorrow, then Philadelphia Sunday night. They're rocking through 18 April. There will be more touring in May and the band will be making its way to the West Coast. More details as soon as shows are confirmed. Plans are also underway for a trip or two to Europe this summer.
The pressing plant says that 1 more Starflyer 59 7" shipped yesterday, 2 more to go...hopefully very soon. I'll post more information as soon as I know it.
