For all of the doubters out there, Jason is finalizing the first four 7" this week for the Starflyer 59 box set. We're working on how to get the actual box designed and printed and also what should be going on the inserts. It's definitely on.
Willi$ and the crack design team at HYMY Industries have finished the first batch of LP covers for the Foxhole/The Magic Lantern/Soporus/Questions in Dialect 2xLP. These are super super awesome and have been silkscreened and letterpressed. You will want one.

I spent a lot of time this weekend adapting the artwork for mewithoutyou Brother, Sister LPs and it's pretty much ready to go. The audio is being mastered to lacquers and plates very soon.
Unwed Sailor's Little Wars limited edition 2xLP version is being planned to have an additional 7" ship with the second LP. The band will be working on finishing the last song for the first LP in late April. Once we get a good test pressing, we'll start taking pre-orders.
There's a review up for The Magic Lantern at the Silent Ballet.
I've just added some releases from Sweden's TenderVersion Recordings to the online store from Audrey, Once We Were, and Scraps of Tape.
We've sold the first 100 Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future 7" subscriptions. So, that means that additional pre-orders will be guaranteed colored vinyl, but won't get an autographed insert. We're taking pre-orders until the first shipment date which will be at the beginning of July. The songs for the first 4 7" are nearing completion, so we're on track to have everything ready.

Isolation Years are apparently stuck in customs in Sweden, so won't be ready for The Magic Lantern show this weekend, but will be ready in time for the Isolation Years' shows this weekend in Stockholm and Umea. If you're not at those shows, get them from Do You Dream of Noise?
I've added some new dates for Bosque Brown, The Magic Lantern, and Yndi Halda on the shows pages.

Lots of vinyl has arrived from the plant. Most of the pre-orders for Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss and Unwed Sailor Circles/The White Ox made it out today thanks to Brit who dropped everything off. We should have Yndi Halda LPs to Europe in time for most of their upcoming dates and Unwed Sailor LPs off in time for their upcoming dates, as well.
I'm back from SXSW. Had a lot of fun hanging out with Mara, Ryan, Jeremy, and Winston from Bosque Brown. Thanks to everyone who came out to see their showcase on Friday night. The high percentage of musicians and related people makes so many chance meetings happen. I won't even start because it will just all sound made up. Andy Bruntel was there because his Bonnie Prince Billy video was showing, so we went to a bunch of shows. Vashti Bunyan played a completely incredible set. I caught some Stubbs bbq with Keyes and then we saw Boris around back on their outdoor stage courtesy of the fine folks at Vice. Also ran into my old friend Wes a bunch. He slaves away for Barsuk these days and is a great guy. I saw Denison a bunch, he played a party during the day and a set with Rosie Thomas. I think I saw him more in Texas this past week than I have in Philadelphia for the last six months. It was pretty international again, I got to see Remco from Holland and Marcus and The Lionheart Brothers from Norway. I stayed with my good friends Brian and Liz and was on their bbq team at the rodeo again this year. Not sure how well the stuff I helped make did, but everything I tasted was delicious. Big thanks to them for putting me up and putting up with me. Thanks to Mara and Ryan for a place to stay, as well, and for letting me finally taste a Whataburger. Hello to everyone new that I met and it was great seeing a bunch of old friends. I'm trying hard to bring the commissioner next year.
Oh yeah, Mara recorded a Townes Van Zandt cover and a Henry Mancini cover for a compilation cd/magazine idea that Winston from Bosque Brown has been working on. She nailed both in one take to analog tape. I've never seen anything like it. The songs are amazing.

We have news that the Unwed Sailor White Ox and Isolation Years Snoose Boulevard LPs are shipping from the plant and will be arriving later in the week. We'll be sending out pre-orders as soon as possible for the Unwed Sailor Circles/White Ox 2xLP and Isolation Years LPs. Yndi Halda should be right behind these. The vinyl for the Foxhole/The Magic Lantern/Soporus/Questions in Dialect 2xLP will be arriving as well, but we're still wrapping up the printing for the special covers that are going to be silkscreened and letterpressed. You will not be disappointed.

It's Selection Sunday and I'm actually rooting against the underdogs because it increases the chances of Drexel to make it into the NCAA tournament. I'm always troubled that SXSW seems to overlap with the first two rounds of the tournament. It's hard to stay on top of all of the upsets. But, I'll be in Austin from Wed through Sunday, maybe I'll see you there. Bosque Brown plays on Friday night.

For the btv completists, I've included information for Aspera's Back When Love one-sided LP. It will finally be available to retail on 29 May and will be shipping shortly. For those in the know, members of Aspera are now in Philadelphia's Blood Feathers (on Box Theory Records) and NYC's Favourite Sons (on Vice).
We've reached box 59 of the Starflyer 59 Ghosts of the Future 7" set, but we still haven't made it to 100. So, if you're looking to get the signed insert, order soon.
Unwed Sailor have some shows coming up starting tonight. I've also added some of their dates in April. They're going to be touring in June and July with Manchester Orchestra for a more extensive national tour, as well as several midwestern dates in May.
I've also added dates for Questions in Dialect who are playing several shows in the south.

A special advertisement composed by our good friend, Mr. Keyes, with some embellishment: "Starflyer 59 is the ultimate fan's band, adored and upheld by a faithful following, kept like a secret for 13 years running. Now, for the dedicated devotee, comes the ultimate collection: in the grand tradition of the SubPop singles club, Wedding Present's 12 7" in one year, or Public Image Ltd.'s Metal Box, Burnt Toast Vinyl is thrilled to announce the Starflyer 59 "Ghosts of the Future" series.
The collection consists of a total of 10 7"s, broken out over four individual shipments. 2 will arrive in July, 2 more in September, then 3 in both November and January. Each slipcase will be letterpressed with specially-designed artwork (from the HYMY Industries design firm), and the first shipment will come with a box built to contain the complete collection (as if anything will actually be able to contain it!).
Then there's the music -- each A-side boasts demo versions of songs from the forthcoming Starflyer full-length; each B-sided is a track exclusive to this collection. It's like being in the studio with the band as they piece together the new record.
If you pre-order at the too-good-to-resist price of $59.59 (postage paid, working out to about $5/7" or so), your set will be pressed on colored vinyl, guaranteed. Later orders run the risk of suffering in the darkness of regular black vinyl. The price will increase after the initial shipment and with each subsequent shipment as a "doubter's tax." Not to imply that there are doubters among the faithful. To add further early ordering incentive, Jason Martin will be autographing inserts for the first 100 orders.
For more than 10 years running, Starflyer has trounced disbeleif with one classic pop song after another. No new kinda story, indeed."
Additionally, for the super fans, a super limited number of test pressing subscriptions (only 15, hand numbered) will be available for $100.59 postage paid. While this seems like an extravagant amount of money to pay for a series of 7", you are purchasing the rights to hear the test pressings when the band and label hear them and you will receive any error test pressings that result. Unfortunately, these are only on black vinyl, but your subscription will also feature the complete artwork, inserts, and box.
We've been actively pursuing this project for almost a year and a half. Many thanks to those who have contributed ideas, feedback, and inspiration, people like Jason Martin, Jeff Cloud, Will Stichter, Ethan Tripp, Jessica Gockley, Matthew Stone, Andrew Horton, and Joseph Keyes. btv couldn't be more serious or more excited about this project.

Efterklang one-sided LPs are going out to all of those who ordered. Sorry for the lag, but we're on top of things now. More LPs just arrived. We're expecting quite a few vinyl shipments this week and next and will update you as soon as they are ready to go out.

New Zealand's Birchville Cat Motel has just confirmed as a participant in the ongoing one-sided LP series. Props to Krister for recording the recent set in Umea, Sweden. We've been digging Chi Vampires and Curved Surface Destroyer.
We finally have a good test pressing with etching for Isolation Years Snoose Boulevard. Ben Volta etched the B side with a bunch of ants and it looks great. We should have this ready in the next couple of weeks, hopefully in time for some of their shows in their native Sweden.
