I just got confirmation that Unwed Sailor The White Ox LPs and Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss LPs will be shipping from the plant early next week. Pre-orders will ship immediately! I know it's been a long wait, but it will be worth it. The LPs for the Foxhole/The Magic Lantern/Soporus/Questions in Dialect 2xLP will be shipping very soon, as well, but the covers aren't ready.
Also, we finally have a good test pressing for Aspera's Back When Love one-sided LP. You know, the long delayed release that took so long that the band broke up and formed two separate new bands, Blood Feathers and Favourite Sons? Yeah, that record. It has some super amazing cover artwork. Shipping very soon!
Johnathon is going to be mixing the fourth song for Little Wars A side in April. Once we get a good test pressing for it, I'll add details about ordering the limited edition 2xLP sets. If all goes well, "Copper Islands" will finally be released on LP this summer!
We're fans of Sweden's TenderVision Records and will be putting some of their releases up for sale in the btv online shop shortly, including the awesome new releases from Audrey and Scraps of Tape and the forthcoming Once We Were.

After several months of problem test pressings, we now have a good test pressing for Unwed Sailor The White Ox. It's normally 2-3 weeks from test pressing approvals until the finished vinyls arrive, but sometimes less. Finally!
It's spring training and the btv fantasy baseball draft is approaching...any indie rockers out there wanting to experience a summer of pain? E-mail your rock pedigree and why you should be in the league.

It seems like "Lonely Bulls" will be mixed in April and we'll be getting the first part of the Little Wars LP set out soon after.
The special vinyl that was alluded to over the weekend is going to be a special 7" subscription series box set. More about that at the end of the week. It will give us all something to wait for.

Happy Lunar New Year.
I'm caught up on all of the mail order except recent orders for Efterklang and pre-orders for Unwed Sailor Circles/The White Ox 2xLP and Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss. I'm hoping to get some good news about both of those soon.
We've been progressing on a release for byul, but no firm release date yet. We've been exchanging songs and ideas for the album. Hopefully by the fall.

Unwed Sailor's Little Wars is an almost mythical album that has been in the planning stages for quite some time. "Copper Islands" has been a fan favorite in the live set since 2001 or so and is also a favorite on their myspace page. But, several songs have already been recorded for Little Wars. And, it will be released before the end of 2007. Seriously. True to the name Burnt Toast Vinyl, we have ambitious plans. Little Wars will first be released as a special limited edition vinyl. The A side will appear several months before the B side as a special one-sided LP with limited edition artwork and a special etching. The B side will be available prior to the final cd release, also as a special one-sided LP and will arrive in the final LP jacket. You can only get these limited edition LPs in a pair, with the first LP to ship sometime this summer and the second LP to arrive later in the fall. After this special edition run, the vinyl will be available as the standard A/B side in a normal LP jacket. Three of the four songs for the A side have been completely recorded ("Copper Islands", "Little Wars", "Caliope") and mixed and the fourth song is nearly complete ("Lonely Bulls"). We're working to get this finished up and out for the true fans who finally want to purchase Little Wars as a limited edition 2xLP set.

I've added some new tour dates to the website, a Bosque Brown show in Denton next weekend, some early March Unwed Sailor dates, and updated April dates for Yndi Halda in Europe. Saxon Shore are rocking Fredonia tonight and Hamilton Colleget tomorrow night.
Thanks to the fine folks who helped push me out of my parking space after the Saxon Shore show on Wednesday. The snow was a little too much after it froze.

Happy Birthday to Jessica.
We've been working on a crazy 7" box set series for over a year now. We should have some more details earlyin the week. This will be the most elaborate thing we've released yet.
A special congratulations to Dave Fridmann who won a Grammy with the Flaming Lips for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for At War with the Mystics. I guess we can now say Saxon Shore The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore was produced by Grammy award winning producer Dave Fridmann.

We had a nice little Super Bowl party last night. I'm pretty excited about the Colts winning.
We gave James some lessons on American football. He also watched the commissioner and I finish off the construction of our arcade cabinet and played quite a few rounds of Galaga and other '80s arcade games. He's making some songs in the attic with Will and Matthew this afternoon.

James from Yndi Halda is coming to the US tonight for a short visit and American football lessons. Little does he know that all the commissioner does these days is watch English football.
LMNOP has a nice review of Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss up now and it's also up on babysue.
In a move that may be shocking to some of our instrumental fans, Burnt Toast Vinyl will be issuing the vinyl for mewithoutYou's Brother, Sister. They're everyone's favorite leftist, biodiesel bus-driving freegans and all around great guys. I've been friends with members of the band for years, ever since some of them played in earlier btv bands. They've also taken Unwed Sailor out on tour. Brother, Sister is one of my favorite records of 2006 and I'm very proud to be able to give it a proper release on vinyl. This is a beautiful album and features notable contributions from members of Anathallo and psalters, as well as Jeremy Enigk and Nashville harpist Timbre. Production was done by Brad Wood who also worked on albums for Codeine, Seam, Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair, Hum, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Sea and Cake. The vinyl should be ready in about 2-3 months.
