Willis and I will be on our way shortly to see Decahedron play tonight in Brooklyn at Northsix. Maybe we'll see you there? I saw them play in Wilkes-Barre last night. Hello to Zeke and Zack who were there. I met them at a Mineral show in 1997 and saw them a few times after, but it's been a few years until last night. We're going to meet up with Sufjan and Emil who's visiting from Oslo. I hope he notices Randall waving the Norwegian flag on the site. We have officially decided to do another pressing of Sufjan's Seven Swans. So, although pre-orders will be getting records from the first pressing, there will be plenty to go around for everyone in the near future. If you're sticking around Philadelphia tonight, be sure to catch Aspera at The North Star. There have been some missing master problems with their one-sided LP that we're hoping to resolve in the very near future and get that thing out. :::scott:::

The vinyl for Sufjan Steven's Seven Swans is on its way and will be a co-release between Sounds Familyre and Burnt Toast Vinyl. There are a very few number of copies left from the first pressing that will be split between Sufjan, Sounds Familyre, and btv. I will be putting this up on the site this weekend and will open pre-orders to the first 10 copies since I'm not sure how many I will be getting for sale or if we will be doing another pressing or not. Daniel Smith says his Brother Danielson full-length is finished and that he will start to work on the one-sided LP soon. Start to get excited. Tickets went on sale for Phillies games today and the opener was already sold out, but I managed to get some tickets to the spring training game against Cleveland that will actually inaugurate the stadium. Happy Birthday to Matthew Stone whose birthday is today. By the way, I just found out that an article I wrote about the Italian prog rock band Goblin will be in the forthcoming issue of Bandoppler. Fun! :::scott:::

There's a cover story in the Philadelphia Weekly on local labels. Burnt Toast Vinyl is featured along with a picture of me eating chili at the Texas Chili Parlor. Get informed on the rock scene in Philadelphia. Really, I just want to show myself off. I forgot to give official and public props to Matthew Magee and his short film "Foster" which features Denison Witmer's song "Paper Dolls." Hopefully you'll get a chance to see it in some format soon. Andy Bruntel is readying a video for Denison's "24 Turned 25" that will be included in the European re-issue of Philadelphia Songs. The next US version will also include the video and an extra track to match the European version. There are also going to be some European cd singles for a couple of Philadelphia Songs tracks that we will try to make available in the US. :::scott:::

As promised, I've posted some btv friends and family top ten lists for 2002 and 2003. Mara Miller goes into the studio with Eric Fisher and Damien Jurado this Thursday to start the Bosque Brown full-length. We're all super excited. :::scott:::

Tomorrow, Denison Witmer and Joey Sweeney will be joining Adam Arcuragi and Gerhardt Koerner at 2pm at The Khyber (2nd street) in Philadelphia. Be there as lover or loveless. I'll see you there for the rock. Tonight, Denison is playing at Eastern College in St. David's, PA at 8pm and The Trouble with Sweeney are playing at a free show at Silk City (5th and Spring Garden) and will go on about 12:30am. I'm thinking of being at both. The Sweeney's just finished their hott 6-song mini-album which is untitled as of yet. For a little recap of Super Bowl chez moi, visit here. I'm working on a new shirt order for btv logo shirts, definitely some in camo, but not sure between light blue and regular green camo. There will be a posting of 2002 and 2003 top ten lists from a variety of btv friends and rockers as soon as I finish my lists, most likely this weekend. Jared Miller of Jetenderpaul asserted that a year's top records can only be assessed after a full year and I think that wisdom holds a lot of merit. Not sure if it was his own or not, but thanks to Jared, we'll be doing that up. :::scott:::

i am typing this somewhere over colorado en route to los angeles. btv is a jetsetting label, as is demonstrated by the new splash page. my mom thought the holiday splash page was up too long, so i took it down. hi mom. she's so high tech. randall is now our cover model. he's in oslo on norwegian national day last year, sporting the proper colors, the shirt not the flag. sorry norway. speaking of norway, emil is coming to visit very soon, we're all long overdue. LA is some kind of triangulation point for many friends. matt doty is there rokking with elkland, recording an album with them as he takes a brief break from saxxon shore duties. matthew is driving from mississippi and i hope to screen his short film, foster, based on a david drury short story from Little Engines #2 and including a denison witmer song on the soundtrack (thanks for asking, our evil lawyers will be suing your independence into poverty shortly). jess is meeting me at the airport. andy is already out there. plans are underway for meeting. i'm off to yosemite for a couple of days, going from cold to warm back to cold. i'll probably get sick, but it will be a good sick. the unicorns were excellent live. sunday, there was a wild super bowl party in my living room. we feasted on strange asian goodies justin and sanna brought me, some weird gummy candies and these kind of sweet mini crab things. someone brought out the snakewine and matthew was cracking open the grappa like he was italian or something. i'm anxious to get some of my favorite southern california milkshakes. large please. i'm not telling where they can be had just yet, but i'll be making many trips to the drive thru. it will be my secret for now. :::scott:::
