Did anyone see the latest issue of Harp where Dr. Dog put Bosque Brown Plays Mara Lee Miller in their top 10 for 2006? Oh yeah, go see them rock the Dallas area on 9 February: Baptist Generals, Bosque Brown, Theater Fire, and Doug Burr at the Granada Theater.
Saxon Shore have a new demo up on their myspace page and are planning to rock in the attic this weekend.
Speaking of top 10 lists, here's one from James of Yndi Halda (James are you on the plane from the UK yet?):

2. Beirut - Gulag Orkestar
3. Bonnie Prince Billy - The Letting Go
4. Sufjan Stevens - The Avalanche
5. Acid Mothers Temple - Starless and Bible Black Sabbath
6. Black Ox Orkestar - Nisht Azoy
7. Vetiver - To Find Me Gone
8. Joanna Newsom - YS
9. Pajo - 1968

Mogwai - Mr. Beast
Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped

Krister also posted a song from Isolation Years Snoose Boulevard on the Do You Dream of Noise? myspace page. Go listen, make this label your friend.
I should have some more btv top 10 lists soon. And maybe I'll actually get around to podcasting again.
Props the commissioner for finishing off the plumbing fix to the Hidden Cameras soundtrack. We also successfully made a batch of breaded pork tenderloins (traditional Hoosier state delicacy) in preparation for our Sunday Super Bowl party.

Willi$ and Matt are back from Sundance. I was most interested in the fact that they saw Chasing the Ghost, a documentary about classic arcade game players, which featured someone who got a perfect score on Pac-Man. Fascinating. Let this or even this whet your whistle until this documentary comes out in wider release or on DVD.
Unwed Sailor are still on tour, go see them rock your world.

"On This Hand" from Questions in Dialect's The Ghost Wishes to Speak is one of the top 5 tracks recommended on The Silent Ballet this week. Our friends The Six Parts Seven are also the band of the week. They have a new album out, Casually Smashed to Pieces, on Suicide Squeeze. We'll have it added to the online store shortly. Also, you can buy The Six Parts Seven Attitudes of Collapse one-sided LP from us as well.
The A side of Unwed Sailor The White Ox is getting recut this weekend. So, if all goes well, we'll have a good test pressing finally and some vinyl ready in 4-6 weeks.
If you're a fan of myspace, go make friends with our Swedish friends, Do You Dream of Noise? We're co-releasing the Isolation Years Snoose Boulevard one-sided LP and The Magic Lantern cdep with them. Oh, and speaking of Isolation Years, they have a new single up on their myspace page.

Unwed Sailor starts a short tour tomorrow night through the southern US. Get out and see them.
I've finished up the LP label designs for the Foxhole/The Magic Lantern/Soporus/Questions in Dialect 2xLPs. When Willi$ gets back from Sundance, he's going to start work on the silkscreen and letterpress designs. This is going to have a super deluxe special package.
LP jacket printing for Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss is finally underway and LP label designs are also finished. We should be getting these ready to ship in the next 2-3 weeks.
We're starting to plan the re-issue for Foxhole's We the Wintering Tree and working out the packaging design for the cds and LPs.
Today in stores...Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss cd, Bosque Brown Cerro Verde LP with cd, and Efterklang one-sided LP along with Foxhole Push/Pull, The Magic Lantern, Soporus Atómové Elektrárne, and Questions in Dialect The Ghost Wishes to Speak cdeps and Unwed Sailor The Faithful Anchor 180g LPs. Happy Birthday to Brit, you old man! The commissioner, Carrie, Van, Brit, and I went out for some witches' brew and waffle house last night in celebration.
I'm getting caught up on all of the online orders over the last week or so. We're almost out of Efterklang LPs and a re-press is underway. It shouldn't be much time for the pressing and we do have enough to fill current orders at the moment.

The btv compound now has fiber optic television and the commissioner is slowly growing an addition to British soccer. And, somewhat related, all of us are addicted to The Office, including some certain musicians in Texas who have just recently watched all of the back seasons.
Willi$ and Matt from Saxon Shore are off to Sundance this week. Say hi if you happen to run into them.

Happy Birthday dear sister.
Foxhole has been added to this year's annual "Battle of the Bands", put on by the Silent Ballet. 64 artists from around the world have been chosen to be included in the tournament and face-off single elimination style for 6 rounds until only one remains (the "winner"). Readers of the website vote on each round, so the winner is determined by their votes alone. You can more about the tournament here. Take a look and find out more. We'd appreciate giving Foxhole your support. The Silent Ballet has already been very kind to Foxhole by naming Push/Pull no. 7 in last year's top 50 instrumental releases, and their track "Forgiving Monarch" no. 14 of the 25 best tracks of 2006.

"I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word."--Martin Luther King, Jr.
Here's some news from Efterklang: Efterklang, who recently has released a One-Sided LP, has just launced their new home on the internet: www.efterklang.net. To celebrate the new site it is possible to download a cover version of the Efterklang song "Step Aside" from their debut album Tripper. Tobias Hellkvist from sweden is the man behind the cover and his acoustic version of the song is simply beautiful! On April 2nd, Efterklang will release their new mini-album Under Giant Trees, and later in the fall of 2007, Efterklang will finally be ready with their second full lenght album! Both titles will be released on The Leaf Label.

There's a nice review of Yndi Halda's Enjoy Eternal Bliss in the UK online magazine Drowned in Sound. They gave the album 9 out of 10.
I've also posted a few of the Saxon Shore February dates up on the site. They'll be playing in New York (City and upstate) and Philadelphia.

The Saxons rocked the attic all weekend long, working out some new songs for the live show and making some demo recordings. The neighbors moved out, not sure if it's a coincidence or not.
January is shaping up to be a very busy month for us. Today, Foxhole Push/Pull, The Magic Lantern, Soporus Atómové Elektrárne, and Questions in Dialect The Ghost Wishes to Speak cdeps and Unwed Sailor The Faithful Anchor 180g LPs are available in stores. Yndi Halda Enjoy Eternal Bliss cds, Bosque Brown Cerro Verde one-sided LPs with cd, and Efterklang one-sided LP will be available in stores in 2 weeks on 23 January. Don't forget that Unwed Sailor will be on tour later in the month, as well.
Denison Witmer's Safe Away 180g LPs have been shipped from the factory. They arrived at Redeye today and hopefully will arrive at the btv compound later today or tomorrow. Pre-orders will be shipping very soon. This will be available in stores on 3 April. It's classic Denison and has some of his greatest songs. It sounds super super super sweet on 180g vinyl. Be the envy of your friends and order one up straight away.
We're making up a bunch of June Panic Raising the Canopy Wire one-sided LPs to send off to Redeye this week for distribution to stores. This has a retail release date of 10 March.

Saxon Shore are rocking the attic this weekend getting some practice in for some upcoming shows in February.
