don’t forget to breathe

It’s been a while for updates, but we’re still here. It was quite an effort to get mewithoutyou 2xLPs out and we’ve been resting a bit. The band took to the road in late June/July and managed to have LPs for most of the dates. I was able to see the band play in Chicago and Central PA which made up for not being able to see the record release show in Philadelphia. Thanks to everyone for buying the 2xLPs. The band is out on tour now with more for sale. In the meantime, our good friends at We Are Lancaster just posted the video for “The Fox, The Crow, and The Cookie” which is the subject of the 4th sided etching on the 2xLP. Well work on finding the source and embedding it here, but for now, follow the link.
Bosque Brown are preparing to do some fall touring and Unwed Sailor is playing to go out in December with The Native Lights, Johnathon Ford’s new band with Bryce from Ester Drang and others.
Years ago, one of our early releases was the LP version of Huntingtons’ High School Rock. That long out of print LP is being released digitally as a remastered version including the LP bonus track. Burnt Toast Vinyl also released Rock ‘N Roll Habits for the New Wave and a re-mastered version will soon be released digitally, as well.

Yndi Halda have been working on some demos for the follow up to enjoy eternal bliss. Hopefully more details on progress soon.

Damien Jurado, mewithoutyou, Unwed Sailor

Congratulations to Al and Amy who are engaged to be married later in the fall. We celebrated after catching Damien Jurado play an intimate set in Philadelphia’s Unitarian church chapel. The spot holds somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 people. The first show sold out and a second was added and actually had more people than the first. It’s quite a special event to see a quiet singer/songwriter and actually be able to hear the songs without folks talking loudly over their beers in the middle of the set. Laura Gibson opened and it was an impressive set. Was quite a fan of the singing saw, especially. Damien played solo for a rather long set. Always great to see him play.

Unwed Sailor wrapped up their spring tour last night in Tulsa after about 4 weeks of touring. Many thanks to all who came out to see them. Johnathon has started a new band with Bryce from Ester Drang and some other Tulsa friends called Native Lights. Their debut show (at least I think their debut) is on 23 May in Tulsa.

I’m wrapping up plans for the mewithoutyou vinyl release of It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! It’s Alright! It’s just a long enough record that we’re going to need to do a double LP. It will come in a thick gatefold jacket. Possibly an etching on the 4th side, but more details later in the week. Thanks to everyone who has been pre-ordering. We’re trying our best to have the vinyl ready to ship near the cd release date.

Website, LP ordering

I’ve been making some updates today to the website, so pardon some hiccups along the way. The shopping cart has been migrated to a new version that was tested this past December and all new releases can be ordered through this new online store. Checkout is through paypal, but if you don’t have a paypal account, you can still pay by your credit card at the checkout screen.

Unwed Sailor are still on tour, making their way through Pittsburgh this weekend and then on towards Chicago and back home. Check out the dates for more information and be sure to see them bring the rock.

mewithoutYou : it’s all crazy! it’s all false! it’s all a dream! it’s alright! LPs are available for pre-order here. These will ship as soon as possible, hopefully to coincide with the cd release date. mewithoutYou : it’s all crazy! it’s all false! it’s all a dream! it’s alright! LP test-pressings are also available for order here.
