In light of yesterday’s tragedy, the CMJ New Music Showcase has been postponed in NYC until October 10-13. More details regarding appearances by Jetenderpaul and The Trouble with Sweeney will be made shortly. Our thoughts, hopes, and prayers are with those in NYC and DC.

The Denison Witmer performance this evening, Wednesday, 12 September 2001, will take place in Philadelphia at The Fire as originally planned.

Jetenderpaul will be playing The Mill in Lititz, PA this Friday, 14 September at 8pm or so. The show is only $2 for this rare opportunity to catch one of the best live indie pop shows available. Jetenderpaul will be playing Saturday, 15 September at Tonic in NYC at 8pm as part of the CMJ New Music Showcase. The Trouble with Sweeney will also be playing Saturday, 15 September at Galapagos in Brooklyn at 8pm as part of CMJ. I’m sure this divides your loyalties, but the indie popsters can see JTP and the alt. country folks can catch TTWS. Hope to see you at these shows.
Our good friend Lucas and Diana are visiting from Amsterdam and we have been showing them the sites. We’ll all be at The Fire in Philadelphia this Wednesday, 12 September, to catch Denison Witmer one last time before we send him off for nearly 3 months of touring. This will be an important and exciting show to see, not to mention a chance to see a show in Philadelphia’s new, up-and-coming venue, a great place to see a show. 21+ only, sorry.
Available for order in the btv on-line store is “‘Baseball is just baseball’ The Understated Ichiro” compiled by David Shields and published by our good friends tnibooks. We are baseball and book fans and this is one of the best examples of a combination of the two, featuring quotes from the Japanese right-fielder of the Seattle Mariners, Ichiro Suzuki who is currently leading the American League in batting average and a favorite for AL Rookie of the Year and MVP.
