Happy Birthday to Mikael in Copenhagen who is now 29. Farewell to Dave Blood, you are missed. A few new albums showed up to stock the on-line store, including the new Decemberists ep on Acuarela, the limited Death Cab for Cutie 180g 2xLP version of Transatlanticism, a live Ida recording in a really nice cardboard package, and the new Will Oldham ep. Earlier in the week, we received the cd version of Sufjan Stevens : Seven Swans and new albums from both Jason Anderson and Ativin. The rock is in full effect here. A friend leant me a copy of the new Pedro the Lion album which, after first listen, has some gems that change up the instrumentation, but also some of the same old as far as vocal phrasing, rhythm and pace. I need another few listens to pass fair judgement. Randall also sent a few albums to listen to and review for Tidal Wave Wagazine. So I’ve got some work cut out for me this weekend. I also intend to have the designs finished and ready to go to press for Aspera, Starflyer 59, and Ester Drang one-sided LPs. Jeremy Dybash finished up etching for Aspera and Ester…
Willis and I will be on our way shortly to see Decahedron play tonight in Brooklyn at Northsix. Maybe we’ll see you there? I saw them play in Wilkes-Barre last night. Hello to Zeke and Zack who were there. I met them at a Mineral show in 1997 and saw them a few times after, but it’s been a few years until last night. We’re going to meet up with Sufjan and Emil who’s visiting from Oslo. I hope he notices Randall waving the Norwegian flag on the site. We have officially decided to do another pressing of Sufjan’s Seven Swans. So, although pre-orders will be getting records from the first pressing, there will be plenty to go around for everyone in the near future. If you’re sticking around Philadelphia tonight, be sure to catch Aspera at The North Star. There have been some missing master problems with their one-sided LP that we’re hoping to resolve in the very near future and get that thing out. :::scott:::
